Governance
ASHDS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional society governed by an elected volunteer board and guided by standing committees.
The Board of Directors sets strategy and holds fiduciary responsibility for the Society. Directors are elected by voting members to staggered terms. Day-to-day operations are led by the Executive Director and professional staff.
Our bylaws, conflict-of-interest policy, Code of Ethics, and annual financial statements are available to members. The Society undergoes an independent financial audit each year, reviewed by the Finance & Audit Committee.

Standing committees
Certification Commission
Oversees the CAHDS, CHDS, and FHDS programs and maintains exam integrity to national accreditation standards.
Editorial Board
Sets the scientific direction of the Journal of Health Data Science and upholds peer-review standards.
Ethics & Standards Committee
Maintains the Code of Ethics and the Society's model documentation and algorithmic safety guidelines.
Finance & Audit Committee
Stewards the Society's budget, reserves, and annual independent audit.
Membership & Chapters Committee
Guides member programs, special interest groups, and the international chapter network.
Nominating Committee
Manages board elections and the slate of candidates presented to the membership.
