About
We are the professional society for health data science.
ASHDS brings together the clinicians, analysts, and informaticists who turn health data into better care. We set standards, certify professionals, publish research, and build community across the field.
Founded in 2014, ASHDS began as a small group of clinicians and analysts frustrated that no professional home existed for the work of using data to improve healthcare. More than a decade later, we are 6,200 members strong across more than 40 countries.
Our mission is simple: advance the science of better care through data. We pursue it by certifying competence, publishing rigorous and readable research, convening the field, and insisting that data work stay accountable to the patients it ultimately serves.
ASHDS is an ACCME-accredited provider of continuing education, and our certification programs are built to national accreditation standards.
